I have been trying for years to get my husband to eat right and start exercising, but nothing has ever worked. When I asked him to read We're Killing Our Kids, he did it because our daughter is also overweight. The next day he suggested that the three of us go for a walk after dinner. This book is going to change our lives! Stacy P. Portland, OR

habits. His analysis of the data is clear and concise. His
easy-to-follow guidelines are well researched and make it easy
to avoid the pitfalls so common in our society.

Editorial Reviews
Kirkus Reports An overweight boy, video game controller in hand, sits mesmerized by a large television set. The image, so familiar today, is the cover photo of Todd Hollander's book about how America's parents are failing their children. In clear, no-nonsense style, Hollander, a once-overweight dad himself, breaks it down: "Causes," "Effects," "What You Should Know," and "What You Should Do." Beginning with his own story, the author then moves on to dietary guidelines in general, and how received knowledge over the past few decades has led the dieting public astray. Nutrition experts have thoroughly debunked low-fat high-carb diets, for example, and maintain that the FDA food pyramid provides a perfect recipe for weight gain. Hollander's target audience is comprised of those busy parents who haven't had time to follow health trends, and there are plenty of them. Hollander's use of simple language and focus on problem-solving make this a superior guide to a serious epidemic.
